Task definition:
In this project, the focus was on permanently sealing the shaft floor, berm and channel and coating them with a highly corrosion-resistant synthetic resin system. Our tried-and-tested HermesConnect-3C local laminate was used, which is characterized by its excellent properties and safe processing.
A particular advantage of this product is that it does not contain styrene, which makes processing much more pleasant for our employees.
Implementation time
Brief description of the project:
To begin with, the manhole structure was inspected in order to select the appropriate refurbishment system. In industrial areas, such as production sites for animal products or cosmetics, manhole structures are often exposed to aggressive media such as cleaning agents and waste water, which significantly corrode the concrete. In this case, the shaft floor was severely damaged, which is why a highly corrosion-resistant solution was required.
Meyer Entsorgung opted for our HermesConnect-3C local laminate, a styrene-free, highly corrosion-resistant and waterproof synthetic resin system. This system is applied in three layers with a 450 g/m² ECR glass fiber fabric to ensure long-lasting protection.
Renovation steps:
- Cleaning the substrate: The shaft was thoroughly cleaned with a needle gun and water to remove loose concrete and impurities.
- Reprofiling: To create an even surface, our ERGELIT-KS1 was applied in a layer of around 1 cm and then finished with a broom finish.
- Application of HermesConnect-3C: After complete curing of the ERGELIT-KS1, the local laminate was applied layer by layer.
The HermesConnect-3C hardens within about an hour, so that the structure could be put back into operation immediately.
The result: the customer is extremely satisfied, and the building is now optimally protected against aggressive industrial wastewater - ready for the requirements of the next generation.
