- Testing of all common materials in wastewater structures
- incl. a professional test report
- We support you in interpreting the test results.
Why is this test important?
The difference between the Tear-off strength test and the Adhesive tensile strength test is easy to explain:
What is the Tear strength
- Time: Carried out directly on the substrate before coating.
- Purpose: Checks whether the substrate is strong enough to support the planned coating.
What is the Adhesive tensile strength
- TimeWill to of the coating as quality control.
- Purpose: Checks whether the coating is sufficiently bonded to the substrate.
In sewer rehabilitation and coating processes, a minimum tear-off strength of 1 N/mm² is required in accordance with DWA-M 143 Part 17. These tests are crucial to ensure that the substrate has sufficient load-bearing capacity and that the coating fulfills its function in the long term.
Although these tests are associated with costs, it is far more expensive to renovate a building where an untested coating has caused damage. It is therefore worth playing it safe beforehand to avoid problems and high repair costs later on.
